There are a lot of uk specialized companies in skyline tuning, but some enthusiasm skyline owners ship their cars to a oversea company called R.i.P.S Racing. This company is specialized in building custom street- or drag-racing cars.
Spark’s nissan skyline r34 gtr was imported by miguel from newera import in 2003. The car was almost standard aprt from some blitz filters, a cat back exhaust and jun auto side skirts.

After a while sparks decided to do some minor cosmetic changes on his car. He took all badges off, changed the mirrors, rear wing stay, jun side skirts, hood, front bumper and standard wheels.
On went some rays te37 wheels powdered in white, nismo side skirts, top secret front bumper, top secret frp bonnet, top secret rear diffusor, veilside mirrors and some custom rear wing stays.

After the cosmetic was nearly perfect he decided to make some minor work on the engine. He contacted rob from R.i.P.S Racing in 2006 and they confer all details.
The car left england on 29th of september in 2007. Arrived in new zealand the ministry of agrar detected some dirt on the car and so they locked up the car in quarantine.

After a good lavatation the car passed the cleanliness test. So the ministry gave the car free.

When the car arrived at R.i.P.S they made a power measurement on the dyno to get a baseline figure for comparison. The car had 310 bhp @ flywheel. After that they drop the engine out of the car. Now it stands engine-less in the garage.

And now the parts are ready in the shop for the engine building process

Rob and Sparks decided to build an rb30 engine with a t04z turbo charger.

left 1200hp turbo, right 740hp t04z turbo

Sometimes the R.i.P.S employee using turbos for workout

Most parts for this car are custom made by R.i.P.S. So they started in building a custom sump extension with cooling fins on the bottom.

Rob made some progress on the engine

a custom fuel tank/system in the boot was installed. All blacked out for this stealth look

This project has some many steps but i wanna show you the important and nicest steps. They welded a low mount exhaust manifold for the t04z turbo.

For perfect gas flow a 4″ stainless steel exhaust pipe was welded together. A borla muffler keep the sound emissions under control
or so……

engine is ready to get in the car. A spiritual moment for each tuner

Spark decided to keep the engine bay stealth as possible.

and now hte car looks like this:

Rob measured the car again and now it has 560hp @ wheels. That truely a beast.
I have to thanks rob for this pictures and sparks to allow me to write this blog entry.

This is my all time favourite R34, the perfect all rounder. You can use this on the road or track, Rob @ RIPS has the RB30 down to a fine art.
Why would you feel the need to pay through the nose for OS Giken stuff?
