Maybe you heard some rumors of this car. But now it’s official. This drag monster arrived in england and is nearly 100 percent finished. The owner of this car completed first drag-strip runs on english grounds last weekend. Jeff said he is very happy with the car but not 100% happy with his results. His best result was 10.42 (1/4 mile strip) with a terminal speed of 144 mph. I think that’s an amazing result with a new built car. Experts say he can easy reach times in the 9 seconds area with more practice.
To the car history…
This drag car was built by R.i.P.S Racing in New Zealand. This company is specialized to build fast street or drag racing cars. Many customer send their cars to R.i.P.S to get a reliable 10 second street car back from them.
Jeff’s car was firstly striped down.

After that R.i.P.S built a rb30 engine with a lot of custom R.i.P.S parts.

They had to enlarge the front-end for better airflow to the intercooler

here you can see a picture from the boot. There is a bottle of nos and a fuel tank/system in the trunk

The driver has to protecteed during highspeed runs. The car has a cage, fire extinguisher and a drag parachute. Some nice bucket seats are also installed.

…..and now….the finished drag-r
