My Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 8

few years ago i wasn’t a car fanatic and i had no clue about the tuning scene around this planet. But this changed when i saw Fast and Furious in 2001. This was something new for me. I don’t knew this scene or better this lifestyle. But i read a lot on the net and talked with my friends over this “new” hobby. So i became a huge car fanatic…..but wait…i had no driver license. A few weeks after my 18th birthday i completed the driver license test successful. I bought my first car, it was a hyundai coupé fx 2.0 16V. But this was a huge mistake. The car was to slow, to heavy and uncool for me. When in 2003 the sequel of Fast and the Furious was released i saw this “yellow car” the first time. But what was it? After the movie i searched for more information about this car. I found out that the car was a new mitsubishi lancer evolution VII. At this time i don’t knew this car. But it was love at first sight. I really wanted one, but it was to expensive for me. Two years later i had the chance to buy one, but there was a new model on the market. The mitsubishi lancer evolution VIII was released. I went to a local dealer for a test-drive…..and wowwww. I was infected from the evolution virus. The car was so fast, so solid, so beautiful. I decided to buy a new black one.

When i had the car in my garage i hade huge plans to tune it. I wanted to rebuild the 2 fast 2 furious one. Fortunately a friend leaned me some jdm option dvds. From this moment, the jdm scene was my world. I left this fast and furious big pimping style behind me and ordered a lot of “normal” parts. The modifications began.

some sparco bucket seats and 4-point harness went in:

Rays VolkRacing CE28N with pirelli pzeros neros followed. I choose 19inch wheels. I know many guys said they are to big for an evo. But i think they looked really good and there was only a little performance loss.

I spent my car a mitsubishi vortex generator. The car looksreally good with them and over 180km/h they give 2.8 kgs more down-fore.

That i had all important temperatures and pressures in sight. We installed four defi bf amber red gauges. If the engine is off, the gauges are black (smoked glass). On the following picture you can see a blitz turbo-timer, perrin gear knob, tein electronic damping force controller (edfc) and the defi control unit-II.

The list get longer and longer and i spent to much money. Here is the full tuning spec of this car:

- HKS Super Dragger II
- K&N Airfilter
- Tein Flex
- Tein EDFC
- Sparco Evo L Seats
- Sparco 4-Point Harness
- Blitz Turbotimer
- tinted Windows
- MR Vortex Generator
- Carbon Fiber Strutbar
- APR Carbon Radiator Shroud
- Volk Racing CE28N Wheels
- Pirelli Pzero Nero
